VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — After a fatal crash and community outcry for change, Virginia Beach Public Works crews will begin an improvement project on Sandbridge Road next week.
Beginning Monday, crews will begin milling and paving work on the westbound lane from Seibert Realty to about 1,700 linear feet west, which will repair the settled area to the crown of the road. That part of the project will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and last until Thursday.
The following week, work will begin Tuesday on both lanes from Colchester Road to Las Brisas Drive. That work will last through June 13 and take place between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. each week night.
Crews are also planning to install raised pavement markings to increase visibility and safety for drivers.
